Macdonald family reunion - Part 1

Grandma Phyllis held a family reunion here in Utah this last week... so my sister Lindsay drove to Utah from California with her 3 kids Sunday and we got to play with them all week. Monday night we celebrated my Step-Dads birthday and ate yummy homemade Costa Vida salads. Everyone was there (except David, he's on a mission for a few more days... Like 8) I Love when my family gets together, We have a such a good time and always laugh so much! But Happy Birthday Dar!!!
Tuesday we got up early and went to Seven Peaks for the day (7 hours) Lindsay's babes have never been to a waterpark so this was super exciting for them. The Grandparents were helpful and came to watch the babies for a little so we could have fun on the slides.  You can't bring food into the park so we made sandwiches and went to our cars for lunch. The weather was 94+ degrees outside. What a hot car picnic! When we were about to leave Jason couldn't find his keys anywhere so an hour later we had checked the lost and found multiple times and went to the car and finally Jason found the keys in the car that he had forgot to lock!!! Scary. He was a little anxious to get into seven peaks and play with us. We learned our lesson.
Rylie makes the silliest faces, so Dad had to copy.

Later that night when Rylie and Emmitt went down to sleep I got together with my two older sisters and Sienna & Josie and we went to Sub Zero for Ice Cream!!

They loved watching the ice cream be made

Wednesday we woke up early and went to my Dad & Delanie (step-mom) in Spanish Fork for breakfast. They made us waffles with cinnamon syrup and whip cream, scramble eggs from their chickens, hash browns and melon, Delicious!! My dad has chickens so after breakfast we went to go see the baby chicks. Rylie tried to rip their heads off literally. We didn't let her touch them after the couple attempts of her 'petting' them.

Wednesday night was the first night that the family reunion had begun. We got together at my Aunt Lynn's church and had a Hawaiian themed night and dinner. We were greeted with Lei's and flowers for our hair. We ate Hawaiian haystacks for dinner and had cute sandal, sand dollar cookies and shave ice for dessert. We learned to hula and sing some Hawaiian songs. I don't know how authentic it really was especially since Jase couldn't be there but, we made it our own and had so much fun! Aloha!

Weekend

Friday night Jason worked so Ry and I went to my mom's as usual and hung out with her and Grandma Phyllis. (her mom who lives with her) Rylie LOVES her great grandma, like squeals and smiles and moves her legs like crazy every time she see's her, it's the best! So we hung out there and then picked up Jase once he was done at 8. Jase was going to see World War Z with his brother-in-law's Kalae and Curt. So Daniel (my brother) and Hannah picked us up and went to her parent's house. We are super close with them like family so it's so fun when we get to see the Hill's and they LOVE babies so Ry was in heaven with all the attention. Our night didn't end until after midnight! So fun! If you know Jase he loves zombies... Walking Dead (tv show) is one of his favorites. So he was pumped to see Work War Z and let's just say he was not disappointed!
Saturday Jase worked, I hung out at my mom's and at night we hung out as a family. After Ry went down for the night I went shopping...not for me though. The bebe has no clothes, she's ruined too many that had to be thrown out. So I had fun finding some outfits. Ross is the place for cheap cute finds!

Are these not the cutest? I love bows!

Sunday we went to Hannah's younger brother Max's farewell. He is going to be serving in Texas (Spanish speaking) and he's so ready! He gave an amazing farewell talk and I definitely felt the spirit.

Afterward we went to the Hills for Jdawgs and treats. Later that night we got together with one of our couple friends who we love... Dallin & Jess. We ate Lasagna, salad and brownies for dessert. Yum! Ps when making brownies always follow the high altitude recipe on the back if you are in Utah anyway (it makes them taste WAY better. Good to know>>> thanks Mariah! (My little baking sister) After many different movie choices, the boys finally gave in and we got to watch the movie Jess and I wanted to see... Safe Haven. It was really good and the boys liked it too! I love Julianne Hough and Josh Duhamel, and together they were amazing. Highly recommend. Such a fun weekend, how was yours?

New blog makeover

I haven't written in forever but I'm planning to be better and update this more often. I am really excited though because Kaylie Hooser just designed my blog and I LOVE it! She is amazing and you should get your blog re-designed (if you feel like you need a blog makeover like I did)

Rylie is so big!! She is 7 months and 1 week old. She is saying "dada" and even calls me that! She is seriously the happiest baby and we love it. She is a wiggle worm and does not stop moving. She rolls all over the house and puts everything in her mouth and I'm constantly taking things out! She weighs 18.5 pounds and is 27 inches long. She is my little toe-head with 1/3 of the hair she was born with. Seriously where did all her curls go? :(

Jason just finished spring semester at BYU and starts summer semester on Monday. Cool break... (2 days) he is working his tail off at the Nutritional sports shop at Golds Gym. What a man!

I am running with my friend Lexi Dastrup with my jogging stroller 3 miles at 6 in the morning... sometimes. We definitely could be better. Trying to get in the best shape, but it's hard! Baby steps to get this body back to its cheer days. I love the summer and have been going to seven peaks with Carly to cool off from this crazy hot weather. Thank goodness for Pass of all Passes! Ps snow cones at Hokulia in Provo are a must have after the peaks. The shaved ice is like powder it's so smooth. Mmm mmm! Go get one.
I am going up with Jason on Tuesday to talk to the National Guard recruiter, but that's for another blog post! We'll see what happens. I've got a notepad of questions ready to be answered and we'll go from there. Happy Saturday!
